Flipphandle Bike Designed by Alejandro Lacreu - - Allows to Turn Handlebars 90° to Line up With the Frame

Flipphandle Bike Designed by Alejandro Lacreu
If you've ever fought to store your bike in a hallway, on a train, or anywhere where space is at a premium, you've probably cursed your handlebars. So necessary while in motion, on a parked bike they turn out to be remarkably cumbersome, sticking out as they do. But a new design, the Flipphandle, does what its name says: it allows you to turn the handlebars 90° to line up with the frame, without turning the front wheel. Problem solved.

We've featured a lot of clever ways to store bikes, from a shelf that holds books and bikes to a system that puts the bike at the top of a light pole, to making robots do all the work. These ideas all work to mitigate the cumbersome nature of a parked bike, but the Flipphandle is the first design (apart from folding bikes) that makes the bike itself easier to store.

Designed by Alejandro Lacreu, the Flipphandle, which on its own looks resembles the hilt of a lightsaber, replaces the handlebar stem and can be installed on any bike. Check out the promotional video:

But while the Flipphandle is ready for production, it needs to raise capital before it can hit stores. So check out their Kickstarter campaign- a $75 donation will get you your own Flipphandle, and get rid of your bike storage problems.

It was a wedding for the record books, and now Prince William and Kate Middleton have gotten all dolled up for their lavish affair once more - as mini replicas of the couple have hit store shelves in London, England today (August 18).

Wearing what has become one of the most famous bridal gowns of all time, the Duchess of Cambridge's doll can be purchased alongside William's - who comes dressed in a scarlet Irish Guards colonel uniform.According to Arklu, the British firm that makes the collectible offerings, the tiny figurines are "instantly recognizable and, some might say, delightfully kitsch."

The latest toys are in addition to the company's already-produced Catherine Engagement Doll, in which the 28-year-old's plastic counterpart wears a red Fascinator, blue dress and gold heels.

Unmanned Systems North America 2011: Chinese Company AEE Tech Unveiled F50 Drone

Shenzhen-based Chinese firm AEE Technology Co. unveiled its small drone, F50, at world's largest robotics trade show in Washington hosted by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International that features robotic hardware from around the world.

With the introduction of F50 China has already stepped in the market of drone technology being used for military and security purposes around the globe. F50 drone, relatively small, short-range drone with a high-definition video camera, might be the best tool for monitoring protests, or responding to building fires.

State-run and private Chinese companies have invested a great deal in recent years in developing drones both for export and for China's military and domestic security needs.

AEE became the first company from China to display its products at Unmanned Systems North America. In a small booth on the edge of the showroom floor, Wendy Wei, the firm's overseas sales department manager said the company was looking to drum up international sales—and potential orders from military and police customers.
