H&M Spring 2011 Collection: Swedish Brand Set to Launch New Collection in January 2011

The Swedish brand H&M offered a preview to their spring 2011 collection, that will be launched in stores at the beginning of the year. If you’re a fan of this brand – and who isn’t, especially after their collaboration with Lanvin – you’ll definitely see a great and fashionable  style in the new pieces and you will like the collection.
They chose the prettiest, most feminine colors, like pink, coral and salmon, turquoise and light brown, as well as a variety of sweet prints: vertical stripes, floral prints, graphics and color blocks. We love the diamond print bell-shaped dress with three quarters sleeves and the gorgeous heels and believe that these will have great success among the fashion-passionate consumers.
Maxi is the new length for skirts and dresses, according to H&M. This length is most appropriate for taller women, but it can look good on petite women as well, when worn with high heels. The fluidity of such a dress is very comfortable. The capes are still in for spring, made of lighter fabrics, of course, and combined with shorts or dresses. Beware of the mini denim dress: it might just be the next “it” item.
The overall aspect of the collection is feminine and romantic. You will find boho-chic combos like the white peasant dress worn with a vest, urban looks like the leather shorts with a silk shirt, 70s inspired outfits like the ankle striped pants and trench coat. Make sure you check out the entire collection in the video look book that H&M launched recently, starring the gorgeous Frida Gustavsson (see below):

A New Line of Luxury Condoms From "The Original Condom" Compan - - Luxury and Facility in An Eco-friendly Way

With everything going the luxe way, I wasn’t quite surprised when I heard of luxury condoms. And yes they are eco-friendly too! Quite befitting their luxury status, they have been created by two French aristocrats! Prince de Bourbon and Count de Bizemont’s 'The Original Condom Company' has brought out a new line of luxury condoms packaged in cases that one sees in high-end jewelry. The shoppers can choose between The Pocket (3 condoms), priced at $13.50, The Regular (box of six, priced at $20), and the refill pack containing 12 condoms priced at $24.

Well this is definitely not for everyday birth control, but they do offer you a good storage. I mean many people get embarrassed in buying condoms and then coming home and trying to find a place that isn’t accessible to everyone. The Count quite aptly said: “Condoms protect everyone from disease, ours protect from tackiness.”

And about the eco-friendly bit, these guys have even organized the carbon offsetting of their products. I am not sure how big an effect this might have on the environment, but hey, every bit counts, right? You can check out their website for more info and placing your order if interested.

“Loan a Book” at Amazon Kindle - - eBook Lending Idea Transformed into Reality by Amazon

If you own a book, you can let anyone borrow it. If you own an e-book, you can’t really let anyone borrow it unless you’re comfortable passing over your e-reader to a friend for a while.

Amazon Kindle users heard that there would be a lending feature on its Kindle e-reader platform by the end of the year. And so, it has finally arrived (with little time to spare). It was just yesterday that all Kindle device and app owners achieved the ability to “loan a book” to a friend. All you have to do is go to Manage Your Kindle on the web, and click on the “Loan this book” button next to a book you have purchased.

Not all books are able to be loaned out as it’s up to publishers of each individual book to enable that feature. Whoever you loan out your book to will be able to read it for the next two weeks, and just like in the physical world, when you lend a book, you don’t get to read it. This is the same with this new option. You can’t loan the same book out to two people at the same time, and you can only lend it out once. Yes, only once.

All New Cruiserio Coupe: Revamped Mercedes Maybach From Maybach and Xenatec - - Features a Powerful 600+ Horsepower Twin-turbocharged V12 Engine

One of the foremost names in the field of luxury automobiles, Maybach and the German engineering company, Xenatec, have now joined hands to bring out an all new and revamped Mercedes Maybach, in the form of an all new Cruiserio. This incredible coupe retains almost every aspect of the original Maybach 57 S limousine, while keeping the car to the status of a two door coupe. The Xenatec Maybach project, that was announced in the month of May this year, was given additional lifeline with the influx of $90.8 million investment from the Saudi firm called AutoKingdom

The all new Cruiserio Coupe features a powerful 600+ horsepower twin-turbocharged V12 engine, and the interiors as well as the technical aspects of the Maybach have been retained to keep the spirit of this luxury vehicle alive. This incredible new design was unveiled at the Daimler headquarters in Stuttgart, and as per reports, the company has planned to manufacture only 100 models of this gorgeous piece of automotive art. The Cruiserio Coupe will be available from James List in Riyadh with a price tag of $940,000.

Gyro Bowl: BPH-free Plastic Bowl With Handles - - Will Not Let Anything Spillout

How many times have you had a bowl of…anything, and spilled it? No matter what we do, or how hard we try, food is just not content to keep itself contained in a dish. However, with the Gyro Bowl, this problem magically disappears.

This BPH-free plastic bowl with handles has an inner bowl that rotates 360 degrees. You literally cannot spill anything because it will counter whatever mess-inducing movement you make. The design makes sure that the open part of the bowl is at the top, and stays that way. It is a combination of some happy bright colors and even though it’s likely aimed at food for toddlers, it would be useful for pretty much anything you want to put in it. It comes with a fresh-lock lid so its usefulness can increase by ten. To add on top of that, it’s also top-rack dishwasher safe, so it won’t be a nightmare to clean. Best of all, the $15 price tag (for a pair of bowls) won’t break the bank.

Moto GP Helmet Sound System: Built to Look Like a Standard Size Helmet

While the phrase “there’s an app for that” gets tossed around a lot, I think there’s one that applies to iPods (iPhones, etc) even better. “There’s an accessory for that.” Seriously, I can’t think of any single line of products that has as many accessories designed specifically for it. There are even accessories to suit your own personal interests.

If you’re a racing fan, then this Moto GP Helmet Sound System might be up your alley. Built to look like a standard size helmet, your iPod (or iPhone) fits just behind the visor. You’ll hear your music through a pair of 7 watt speakers located on the top, and a 15 watt sub in the bottom. Other niceties include a USB port and SD card slot for playing music from another source. Unfortunately this racing replica will set you back a whopping $240.

Spring-summer 2011 Collection by the French Brand Carven - - Chic, Feminine And Pared-down Fashion Free From Ostentation

“With its chic, feminine and pared-down fashion, free from ostentation, the House today offers an inspired and accessible ready-to-wear collection” – this is the description of the French brand Carven, according to their own website.
The description actually applies to the spring-summer 2011 collection that is featured on the site: it is feminine and chic, bold, but not over the top. You will find interesting geometrical shapes, black and white graphic prints and smart collars. The collection is based on pastels, and the blush and peach hues look incredibly sweet – I like to believe that no woman can say no to such colors.
Some of the dresses are wrapped and tight, some are draped and some have great volume in the bottom part. You can also find beautiful cocktail dresses, for a more official event. The tulip skirt is also fashionable, but shorts are a nice alternative as well. The shorts-blazer-shirt combo can actually be appropriate for the office, if worn with heels and a suitcase-inspired handbag.
Two of the most inspiring items of this collection are the gray baby-doll trench coat and the blush jacket-dress. Influenced by the classic and classy 50s look, these are must-have pieces for the next season.

The shoes to match this collection look like they have wings: made of black suede, with a big bow in the back, they can bring a simple outfit in the center of attention.

Google Beaten by Facebook as Most Visited Website in United States Capturing 8.93% of All Traffic Generated in the U.S.

Facebook has surpassed the number of hits on Google, as reported by Experian Hitwise, a company specializing in measuring online traffic.

According to a report released by the company, Facebook received 8.93% of all traffic generated in the U.S. between January and November this year. Google comes in second with 7.19% of the total, followed by Yahoo Mail with 3.52%.

The report takes into account only the address given and discards pages belonging to the same company.

Combined with the addresses of a company such as YouTube, Blogger, Gmail etc.., Google, the search giant had 9.85% of all U.S. traffic. Facebook will keep the 8.93%, while Yahoo accumulate 8.12%. Together, the ten most visited websites of the U.S. accumulate 33% of all traffic in the country.

The report differs from that presented by ComScore earlier this week that puts Google in the first place, the sites of Microsoft in second place, third on Facebook, and Yahoo in the fourth.

The Mark Zuckerberg‘s social network was also the most searched term in 2010, according to Experian Hitwise. The site had already achieved this status in 2009. In sequence, appear Facebook login, YouTube, Craigslist and MySpace.

New Dimensions Opened by New York Based Regino Gonzales in Tattooing Art

Regino Gonzales began his work back in 1995 in his multi-media platforms of photography and painting, and later jumped on the tattoo bandwagon. In 2001, he received his BFA from the School of Visual Arts and kick-started his career in tattooing.

Based in New York City, Regino Gonzales’ work is inspiring, provoking and very detailed. He still paints and photographs, but his passion regards tattooing as number one.

Standardized and Harmonized Mobile Phone Chargers to Be Introduced in Europe - -An Eco-friendly Move by European Union

How many cell phones have you owned in the last 10 years? Now how many of those used the exact same charger? Not many I suspect, unless your phones were from the same manufacturer, and even that wasn’t a guarantee. Here comes the solution.

In May 2010 news buzzed around that the European Union might require a universal charger for all cell phones, just to cut down significantly the number of redundant charger manufactured every year i.e. whopping number of 51,000 tons according to estimates of GSMA. In October the idea becomes the reality and now the implementation work has already been started.

According to the reports of ‘Register’, harmonized chargers will rule in the cell phone industry in the next two years, noting that Apple, Nokia and RIM will all have phones out during 2011 that would be capable of using the same universal charger to juice up via micro USB.

It's not just these three companies, however -- Emblaze Mobile, Huawei Technologies, LGE, Motorola, NEC, Qualcomm, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, TCT Mobile (Alcatel), and Texas Instruments are all on board to manufacture phones with micro USB charging within the next two years. This means far fewer redundant chargers manufactured, and a reduction in e-waste.

Book Rest Lamp by Suck UK - - Design And Function Wrapped up in An Elegant But Childish Way

It’s nice to sit in bed all snuggled up with a good book. Something that is entirely annoying is whenever you have to get up, for any reason at all, you lose track of the page you’re on. Or the book magically closes itself entirely in your absence. The Book Rest Lamp put out by hilariously named Suck UK has both design and function wrapped up in an elegant, yet childish way.

A frosted glass geometric frame contains the light source, which makes your reading experience an enjoyable one. It’s top is the perfect shape to hold a book open at whatever page you may be at, and it makes a house! Though when you’re near the very end or very beginning of your book it will be kind of hard to use, as the weight distribution will be off. In any case, this $53 lamp will do its duty, for one or both functions.

Stickpecker Chopsticks by MicroWorks - - Unique And Intriguing to Use

These Stickpecker Chopsticks are amazing on several levels. Not only do they feature a cute and simple design, but they are also reusable, making them perfect for environmentalists. With its magnetic tops, the woodpecker stick fits neatly into the tree stick when not in use, and breaks apart with a bit of a tug when needed for eating.

Brought to you by MicroWorks Web, these Stickpecker Chopsticks are both unique and intriguing to use.

Everyone knows that CES episode for 2011 will be coming in next week and it seems that LG continues to tease with announcements for the 2011 edition of the CES in Las Vegas.

This time they presented a new Mobile Digital TV with 3D capability. Not much is known about it yet, except it runs on LG2161R MDTV chip with NRT (Non-Real Time) technology.

Capable apparently of broadcasting 3DTV while moving at up to 200 km/h (125 mph) it will be unveiled during CES in January.

Heesen Air: New Addition by Dutch Yacht Manufacturers in 47-metre Steel Hull Series

The Dutch yacht manufacturers, Heesen, have been working very hard on their 47-metre steel hull series and have added another one, called “Air” to this ever growing range. Infact this will be the sixth hull in the luxury steel hull series. Heesen’s in-house team collaborated with Omega Architects, who worked out the interiors of the yacht, which is based on a playful contemporary theme combining black and white, with splashes of color in between.

As far as the technical characteristics are concerned, they are similar to the rest of the yachts in this series. It has twin MTU 20V 4000 M93L marine diesels capable of attaining speeds around 15.5 knots. A slower cruising speed of 10 knots ensures a respectable continuous range of over 4,000 nautical miles. There are five cabins, one for the master and the rest for guests. All the rooms are very comfortable with twin and double bed arrangements that can be adjusted according to the requirement.

This series started in 2004 with a yacht called “Yalla”. And “Air” will definitely not be the last in this 47-metre steel hull series as there are already three similar yachts under various stages of production at Heesen’s Dutch facilities.

Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) Media Player Information Leaked - - Unofficial Availability to Public

The most talked about mobile platform, Google’s Android, has starting capture the whole race of modern devices ranging from smartphones, tablet PC’s to netbooks. After Android 2.3 (also known as Gingerbread); which is now operative on different devices like Samsung Nexus S, the updated Android 3.0 (commonly known as Honeycomb) is making their way to invade the market.

Most probably there won’t be any devices powered by the Android 3.0 Honeycomb until well into 2011, but if you’re a bit anxious and are willing to pull a few strings you can get down on some Honeycomb right now. The reason I say this is because according to reports the official Android 3.0 media player has leaked and is available to download, unofficially, for a wide array of different smartphones.

As you can see from the above screenshot the updated media player is quite a bit different but it’s not available yet for everyone. According to reports, the leaked version will only work for those running versions aside from Android 2.3 or 2.1.1. Froyo user? You should be set to go.

If you aren’t a fan of unofficial leaks make note that Google is sure to release the official version at some point next year. We’ll keep you posted as more official news is made known.

The Sexiest Stars of 2010 - - Penelope Cruz and Natalie Portman on the Top in An online Poll

Penelope Cruz and Natalie Portman have beaten off competition from Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston to be named the Sexiest Stars of 2010 in an online poll.

While Cruz, 37, is eight months pregnant with her first child, Portman had announced earlier this week that she too is set to become a mother.

In an online poll at Fandango.com, Portman, 29 was voted the Sexiest Woman in 2010 movies by men, while Spaniard Cruz was the women`s poll leader.

The website`s male respondents voted Johnny Depp and Ryan Reynolds the joint Sexiest Man in 2010 movies, while the women picked Depp ahead of Robert Downey, Jr.

The voters in the Christmas weekend online poll also chose Blake Lively as the Next Big American Movie Star.

Men picked Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz, stars of ‘The Green Hornet` as the Most Mismatched Movie Couple and women opted for Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston who star in ‘Just Go With It’.

R/C Jumping Kart: Pretty Cool and Funny Stuff for Your Kids - - Enjoy Video Presentation

How many of you have owned an R/C car in their lives? How about a remote controlled helicopter? I’m sure that some of you have owned both. But what about a toy that functioned as both a car and a helicopter? I bet not many of you can say yes to that one.

This R/C Jumping Kart may not be the biggest or fanciest toy you’ve ever seen, however, it is still pretty cool nonetheless. I can imagine the hours of fun you could have with this little guy. From trying to run obstacle courses, to really annoying your cat. On second thought, don’t try that last one. This car will set you back $124, which will make you very upset when your cat catches it mid-air and brings it crashing down.

Treepod Dining; The Most Unique Dining Experience - - Launched by Soneva Kiri of Six Senses in Thai Jungle

Designer Louis Thompson must be given all the credit for creating the most unique dining experience. I am talking about the Treepod dining. It has been launched by Soneva Kiri of Six Senses and it is definitely the most spectacular way to enjoy a meal in the canopy of the Thai jungle. You can really enjoy the jungle while having a meal. Guests board a ‘bird’s nest’ at ground level, fasten their seatbelts and are hoisted 16 feet into native, massang trees.

Even conceiving this idea seems to be a bit wild but actually executing it needs a lot of conviction and self belief. The Treepod can seat for up to four diners and the waiter gets to and fro via a zip line. Since you are right in the middle of a jungle the menu also has a jugle theme like Canapés in the Canopy, Forager’s Basket, Woodland Offerings and such like.

The best part of this eco friendly initiative is that the whole paraphernalia has been built without any bolts or attachments into the actual trees. From design to final realization took two years but the effort has been worth it as the guests are not simply appreciating it but thoroughly enjoying it.

Skype Bringing Video Chatting on iPhone in Upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2011) in Las Vegas

Skype on the iPhone is hardly news, but a support document leaked some information that hints at the new ability of video chat. Let’s give a round of applause to the upcoming CES and Skype for trickling out this nifty news. Now that front facing camera will actually have a purpose in life, because honestly, who uses Face Time?

Even though you’ll likely need to have WiFi for it to work, it will still be rather convenient to not have to be tied to a laptop with webcam capabilities if you only have a specific slot of time to talk to someone. It’ll be extremely convenient for conversations with friends and family who are in a completely different time zone, or on the other side of the globe.

“It was always just [about] having fun” - - Rihanna Breaks Up With Dodgers’ Baseball Star Boyfriend Matt Kemp

“It was always just [about] having fun”. This is the nutshell of the statement came after the reported break up of the "Only Girl (In the World)" hitmaker, Rihanna from Dodgers’ baseball star boyfriend Matt Kemp after nearly about one year.

Unveiling the reason behind this most likely break up a close source said, “Matt's sick of always following after her like a puppy dog all over the world. He wants something more normal." The source then claims, "It was never as serious as it looked. It was always just [about] having fun.”

Rihanna, 22-year-old singing sensation, admitted about the affair with Matt Kemp in a radio show back in July; but first the couple was spotted in January this year having fun vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Well, it's a nice breather from all those celebs getting occupied in recent days. Two more back on the market for the rest of their fans …

Samsung Galaxy Player: Potential Killer of iPod - - Set to be Launched in CES 2011 (Must See Video)

Samsung is trying to capture the Android market with their ever-penetrating gadgets and devices. It seems that Samsung has planned to give a stiff competition to Apple in 2011 on all fields.

Ostensibly, Samsung is not satisfied to challenge the iPad with the Samsung Galaxy Tab or the iPhone with its Galaxy S line of smartphones, will use January’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas to disclose yet another Apple competitor, the Galaxy Player.

Galaxy Player a touchscreen multimedia device meant to take the iPod Touch head-on in the consumer market.

Galaxy Player will run Android 2.2 (Froyo) and include a 1GHz processor, 4-inch touch-screen, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, front- and rear-facing cameras, HD video playback, and access to apps via the Android Market. The 1200mAh battery will be removable.

If a Samsung Galaxy Player would manage strong sales upon release, it would shake up a portable-media-device market long dominated by Apple’s iPod line. Other competitors, including Microsoft’s Zune HD, have earned strong reviews from critics but generally middling sales.

Watch the device in action in this video:

Apple Likely to Build WiFi, UMTS and CDMA Models of the Next Race of iPad - - According to DigiTimes

According to DigiTimes, Taiwanese industry publication, reports on Tuesday; Apple is likely to build WiFi, UMTS and CDMA models of the next race of iPad in a respective build ratio of 3:4:3. Production of the device is expected to start as early as the first half of January, with about a half-million iPads expected to be assembled.

Referring to industry sources the report claimed that between 60 to 65 percent of current iPad shipments are the UMTS 3G model. Because of this, Apple is expected to work even more closely with wireless partners for the second-generation tablet.

The report also pointed to the fact that Apple is expected to have shipped about 16 million iPads in 2010, and between 2 million and 3 million units will remain in the channel at the start of 2011. That number is expected to satisfy demand as Apple gradually stops production of the first-generation device, in time for the debut of "iPad 2."

According to Chosun, Samsung is working on next-gen of its immensely popular Galaxy S Android smartphone. All is set to unveil the new device, with most probable model number i9100, at MWC in mid of February 2011.

It is being whispered that the new Galaxy S (i9100) will feature a dual-core processor. Android 2.3 will almost certainly run the show – after all, the world’s first Gingerbread phone is made by Samsung.

With almost 10 million sales already the present Samsung Galaxy S (pictured above) is one of the best-selling Android smartphones ever. Will its successor be even more successful? Probably yes, especially since Android and smartphone sales in general are on the rise.

Romain Jerome Titanic-DNA Tourbillon Steampunk (RJ Steampunk) - - Limited Edition Luxury Watch With Only 2012 Pieces

Romain Jerome, the luxury watchmaker has done it again. Their limited edition Romain Jerome Titanic-DNA Tourbillon Steampunk A la Grande was a grand success. They have just unveiled a follow up creation the RJ Steampunk. The new creations powerful design comes through polished steel paws, pistons and large Roman numerals. There are some differences in style from the Titanic watch but the basic difference this time is that RJ Steampunk uses a movement without a tourbillon.

The case of the Steampunk is large. The case is 50mm wide and the bezel is oxidized metal. The mechanism that looks very complicated and elaborate is held in place by four screwed-down pistons, which symbolize the RJ’s signature “X” motif. The screws go deep into the dial. The screws have been made so prominent and visible because they resemble steam engine pistons.

Romain Jerome is keeping the mechanisms simple and stressing more on design. The RJ Steampunk is basically a variation on the Titanic theme but has been very well executed. The final pricing for the new watch has not been declared but it should be lower than the Titanic due to the absence of a tourbillion. Only 2,012 pieces of RJ Stempunk will go into production.

Hydroleaf: Designed by Mostafa Bonakdar - - Eco-friendly Water Dispensing Unit Collects And Purifies Rainwater

With billions of people over the world lacking access to safe drinking water, industrial designers have taken up the opportunity to design systems that help improve the conditions for some. Designer Mostafa Bonakdar has shared with us his new concept water dispensing unit that collects and purifies rainwater to be used as drinking water. Christened the Hydroleaf, the water dispensing unit, which also functions as a shelter, makes use of renewable solar energy for the filtration process.

The designer estimates that the Hydroleaf can store up to 60 liters of water in its tank and the amount of water inside can be checked using a vertical glass placed on the storage tank. The solar energy collected by the system can be also be utilized to power a set of lights to illuminate the streets after dark.
