Britney Spears' New Single ‘Hold It Against Me’ Topped the Charts in Its Opening Week


According to reports from Billboard New single ‘Hold It Against Me’ by pop diva Britney Spears’ has topped the charts in its opening week. ‘Hold It Against Me’ is the 4th number one single of Spears’ career.

Britney Spears has become the second artist in Billboard history to debut multiple songs at No. 1. Mariah Carey is the only other artist to have had multiple first-week chart toppers – Fantasy and One Sweet Day in 1995 and Honey in 1997.

 According to Nielsen SoundScan, Spear's new single, off her upcoming seventh album, sold 411,000 digital downloads, beating out Taylor Swift's 2010 record of 325,000 downloads for "Today Was a Fairytale". In 2009, the singer’s track 3 also debuted at number one.
