HTC 7 Pro and HTC Gratia Coming to UK in February - - Official Announcement by HTC

HTC has announced the UK release of its HTC 7 Pro and Gratia handsets in February.

The HTC 7 Pro is HTC's first business oriented Windows Phone 7 (WP7) device, with a 3.6-inch screen that slides away to reveal a Qwerty keyboard. It features the standard hardware specification for WP7 of a 1GHz processor. HTC touted WP7's ability to work with Microsoft Outlook email and Office documents before promoting the multimedia and gaming capabilities of the phone.

While the HTC 7 Pro is being pitched at the high-end smartphone consumers, HTC's Gratia handset is a mid-range offering that the firm claims is "a compact yet powerful Android smartphone". The Gratia has a relatively low-rent 3.2-inch 480x320 touchscreen and is powered by a 600MHz processor, meaning that even though HTC will load Android 2.2 on the device, watching videos on Adobe's Flash player is likely to be a painful experience.

HTC had a bumper 2010, releasing more headline grabbing smartphones than just about any other manufacturer as well as being a launch partner for Microsoft's WP7 operating system. While it had a relatively quiet CES, the firm is expected to show up with something special at next month's Mobile World Congress.

HTC did not disclose pricing for either phone, however expect mobile operators to subsidise both handsets aggressively.
