Mexico City – Ilya Salkind, the producer of the "Superman" films in late 70’s and early 80’s, ahs been located according to his family, who went missing for four days in Mexico.
A worker at the Mexican-born producer's home in the town of Tepoztlan - near the Mexican capital - told the Morelos state Attorney General's office on Wednesday that Salkind had been gone astray since Sunday.
His family members said they last saw 63-year-old Salkind on Sunday night and that he may have left the house Monday morning to go to a dentist meeting and run some household tasks.
Authorities were continuing to search for Salkind but a Web site created by the family reported that the producer had been found Thursday and that more details would be provided shortly.
The producer of the films "Superman," "Superman II" and "Superman III," which starred Christopher Reeve and contained the tagline "You'll Believe a Man Can Fly!" was born Ilya Juan Salkind Dominguez in Mexico City.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Salkind was a major player in Hollywood and he was involved in a much-publicized feud with the director of "Superman I" and part of "Superman II," Richard Donner.
Tepoztlan, where Salkind has a residence, is a small town at the foot of the Tepozteco Mountain. Its colorful marketplace, natural beauty and reputation as a mystical center make it a popular tourist attraction.
